In summary I would like to know if there is a way once you have created an "alert me" for other staff, if you can then cancel it (other than just having them all do it themselves).

The changed layout only works for me (administrator) and is not the default for everyone ie it's still the same.

What have I done wrong?

I have been playing with the sharepoint designer document library within Virtual classrooms and I'm interested in uploading a "web.config" file so as I can get a Data connection using asp.net to a SQL data base. I keep getting block. If you have any ideas I would appriciate it.

I have been getting a lot of this from the teachers, where some of the students don’t get rights to their respective classroom. I checked the groups and they do belong to the correct groups. As a work around I would go into the sub site (VC) and add the user to the respective site which fixes this. Any light on this issue ?

There are a few issues to be addressed when using virtual classrooms:

1) Some of the students in the class are not on the list so do not have access. This is usually about 10% of the class which is way too high.
2) Change in class list are not easily reflected in the virtual classroom. For instance, as the semester changes for year 9 Science, my class list changes. I do not have access to the virtual classroom members so I cannot update it.
3) Automatic changes to the class list can be disastrous. I had work submitted by students in RE year 11/12 last semester via the assignment submission system. The class list was altered for second semester before the end of first semester and I lost access to all of the assignments for marking. ( attempts by yourself and IT were not successful in recovering the work) Also, automatic update of the list for year 9 Science meant I lost access to the submitted year 9 assignments. Less of a problem than the RE as the year 9 assignments were already marked.]]>

I am having an issues with managing the number of VC’s created by users as I don’t see them if the user does not add the site Admin to the access group. Is there a work around this problem; which would enable site admins to see all created virtual class rooms and override user settings and mange VC.
